Product Info
This is a high-quality reproduction of a vintage drawing of the Spurdog or Spiny Dogfish by George Cuvier, French naturalist and zoologist, sometimes referred to as the "founding father of paleontology". The Squalus acanthias is a smallish member of the shark family growing to 2-3 feet in length. Though not large, they are aggressive and can swim in packs of 1,000 or more, and each has a mild venom that it can inject into would-be predators from it's two dorsal spines. It is part of his best know work, "Le Règne Animal" (The Animal World), a 4 volume set publish in 1816. Several of his drawing are featured here and could make a thoughtful set in your home or office.
Three framing colors, these archive-worthy ink and photo paper enrich any applied design. A premium hardware inclusion on the backside guarantees clean hanging; making sure that the premium horizontal poster’s design comes across as it should.
